About Me – For optimal listing appearance, please limit this info to one or two paragraphs.: Primary care services in Waimanalo, HI (Oahu)
List Special Services You Offer: As one of the medical providers at Waimanalo Health Center, I offer primary care medical services for patients ages 18 and above. I emphasize an approach that focuses on a healthy lifestyle as the primary way to stay healthy and disease free. This includes adopting as close to a whole foods plant based diet as possible for the patient, as well as optimizing other important lifestyle aspects such as sleep, exercise, and emotional health. I work with my patients to try to minimize the use of medications and to use them judiciously when needed.
Complementary alternative therapies are often discussed in our visits and are a welcome partner at our clinic, where we offer the services of a Native Hawaiian health practitioner who can recommend native Hawaiian herbal medicine and lomilomi when appropriate. Our comprehensive clinic services include medical care for all ages and all insurance types (including uninsured patients). This includes pediatrics, OBGYN, behavioral health, dental services, vision services and eligibility services to assist with insurance and social service resources.
As someone who follows a whole foods plant based diet, I can assist patients in their efforts to adopt this diet as well as answer questions about common concerns including how to compose a healthy meal plan, if supplements/labs are needed and how to use a WFPB diet to prevent or reverse chronic diseases such as Type 2 diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol.
