She strongly believes that nutrition is not only important for the prevention of chronic disease but also for disease management. She aims to empower patients with the knowledge and provide them with the support to make and sustain healthy lifestyle changes. Dr. Eakin earned a Bachelor of Science in nutrition and dietetics, and a Master of Science in nutrition science at East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C. She attended medical school at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Grand Forks, N.D., and completed her medical residency in family medicine at Valley Family Medicine Clinic at Valley Medical Center in Renton, Wash.
