About Me – For optimal listing appearance, please limit this info to one or two paragraphs.:
I became a vegan for ethical reasons in 1983. Due to the desire to help others be on healthy vegan diets I studied nutrition (including a Masters) and became an Accredited Practising Dietitian. In my studies I learnt that it was the “western” diet with its high intake of cholesterol and saturated fat and low intake of fibre that contributed to many common health problems, and realised that a low fat whole plant food diet could have enormous benefits. I was delighted to find that others (Ornish, McDougall etc) were also getting great results with this way of eating. I have been helping people adopt whole food plant-based eating patterns for general health and to treat cardiovascular problems and diabetes since 1992. I raised my two children this way and they are now healthy adults (aged 25 & 28).
