Telehealth practitioners use of secure video conferencing technology to deliver patient care remotely rather than in person, in the practitioner’s place of service.

Telehealth is an emerging service, increasingly offered by practitioners. It is a service that greatly expands treatment options for all patients but particularly for those patients in areas where there are few practitioners or for patients that require highly specialized care.

Telehealth can also improve access to care for patients who may not have the time to be able to leave or who may be unable to leave their homes in order to seek treatment.
