I am truly excited about the revolution happening in medicine lead by the Plantrician Project and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. The American public and the medical profession have been so enthralled by technology and drugs that we have lost sight of the basic truth which is that preventing disease is the biggest prize of all. Over seventy percent of modern diseases are not only preventable by diet and lifestyle changes they can be reversed. In my experience, the benefits are beyond what can be achieved with standard medical care and without the expense and side effects of procedures and drugs.
Lifestyle changes benefit all aspects of your physical and mental health and with surprizingly quick results. I continue to be amazed by the outcomes in my patients and my own personal health.
I now practice Primary Care with an emphasis on a Whole Food Plant-Based diet and lifestyle interventions as the first line in preventing and reversing disease with medications as a last resort.
